FutureProof is a growing, venture-backed team building a uniquely climate-smart property insurer. We price flood, fire, and hurricane risk at a granularity the industry can’t match.

Building insurance well requires genuine skill, and the people who can do it are rare. As other insurers retreat from climate-risky places, we assess what actually makes a home survive these increasingly frequent events, and write the policies that let people keep living in the ones that can. We have a big vision: to create insurance products to cover the risk from climate-related disasters, and motivate investment in climate adaptation.

The Role

FutureProof is looking for an entrepreneurial and experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Manager will handle a wide range of responsibilities that support company operations and strategy. The role will work directly with our executives to drive execution across operational and administrative functions.

About You

  • You want to be part of a team that is changing how the insurance industry underwrites, prices, and manages climate risk
  • You take pride in your work, and feel inspired to bring novel property insurance solutions to the market
  • You understand at least some of the elements of achieving success in the fintech vertical and are eager to learn new skills where needed
  • You bring care and attention to detail in your work
  • You are a resourceful self-starter
  • You are a clear and confident communicator

Responsibilities

  • Have an important hand in everything FutureProof does and will help coordinate needs across our organization
  • Facilitate and strengthen personnel policies and processes such as new hire onboarding, performance management, and retention for our global, remote-first workforce
  • Manage corporate payroll, benefits, and HR administrative processes
  • Define a forward-thinking contracting process to position us for rapid growth
  • Assist with investor relations, legal and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate internal document tracking and retention
  • Become a key contributor to FutureProof’s financial planning and analysis function

Useful experience

  • Project management skills including ability to analyze, plan, communicate, and execute
  • Experience building strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strength across written and verbal communication styles and ability to prepare and present information in verbal and financial terms
  • Early-stage startup experience is a plus, fintech or insurance background is a double plus
  • Experience coordinating remote teams is a plus
